EDIT: *sigh* Well got my fillings today and that didn't go to bad but for some reason, ever since I've gotten home, I've been sick to my stomach and I finally puked. Ugh! Colt's getting a really bad cough as well so I probably won't be able to attend the trail ride after all. *sigh* Of course it would have to be this way.:S Guess it all depends on how I feel in the morning.

Colt started at the developmental preschool yesterday and so far so good. He seems to be doing well. Hopefully they'll be able to help him start talking and being more verbal instead of just screaming at me all the time. However, my alarm clock didn't go off this morning and he ended up being a little late. I go to bed at 4 am usually so getting up at 7 is a chore. The alarm was set correctly but I never remember waking up to turn it off. Perhaps I did it in my sleep...? Who knows.

Anyways, the trail ride is in just a couple of days and I've been scurrying around trying to make sure I'll have everything ready by then. Unfortunately, I've been a walking accident this week! I've managed to damage the left side of my body at least once a day and I've popped my shoulder out 3 times this week on that side. I'm GOING on that ride! I don't care if I break myself. I cleaned up my tack today and added some more holes in my stirrups so that I'm more comfy and as I was adjusting my saddle on the rack, my shoulder cracked so I think it might be back into place finally. I also have my new saddle pad so he should look extra sexy!

Gambit seems to think he's a stallion now that he's been with a herd. There's a new horse being boarded, a western pleasure type paint and Gam's established a dominance over him. He's about 16 hh tall and Gam whoops his ass. I know it's not funny but horses will be horses. Karen said when they released Dakota, tis the paint's name, Gambit attacked him and landed a good kick on his leg. Then he chased him around. Nathan shot the comment, he must have been gelded late but being gelded as a yearling is hardly late, lol! I think, to be honest, he's doing it to show off for his g/f, Wickie. It's rather funny...when I go into the field to catch him, he'll run off the geldings but he "brings" Wickie up to see me. He'll herd her over and then come love on me and then turn around as if to "introduce" Wickie and me. He's so strange, lol! She's the only other horse in the field that I can pet...he won't let me get near the others. So Karen decided to turn out Hildago, who is also herd dominant in hopes that he might knock Gam's attitude down a peg but he's been more interested in waiting at the gate for grain, lol! I'm sure they'll have a battle royal though. I told Karen though that if Hildago gets too rough, I want him taken out. No need in either of them getting hurt or I'll start stalling Gam. There's no need for him to be so bossy. I just find it kind of odd that he's acting like that because he didn't last year.

I gave him his first official bath of the season yesterday. We think he has a skin fungus because of all the rain we're getting. His skin is dry and flaky and he has bumps in patches on his neck, sides, and rump. So he got iodine shampoo. Overall though, he was a very well behaved boy. He was a little antsy but it has been about a year since he's had a bath. It's too be expected. Too bad their isn't a miracle grow shampoo for his mane and tail. Think tomorrow, I'll groom him up really nice and clip him.

Blah, I gotta go for my fillings in the morning...that should be fun.

Yup, that's right. I have to have glasses. It's not a prospect I'm highly thrilled about since I can barely stand my sunglasses but the Dr feels that I need them and have needed them for a while now. I've been having some issues with night driving and occasionally my vision will go blurry on me. He said that I'm pretty farsighted and the little lens behind my pupil has been overworking itself by allowing me to see distances as well as things up close so now it's becoming stiff. He said I have Hyperopia, [link] Anywho, I'll be getting them sometime around the 22nd. He thinks that my art will make an improvement once I can see correctly.

Also, had a dentist appointment and I have to get 2 fillings on the 15th, yay . Oh well, stuff has to be done.

Gamster got his coggins pulled Wednesday, so hopefully everything will come back negative. It should since he's only ever been around where he was born and Karen's. He was a good boy and the vet, same vet that's always worked on him, said he's really shaping up into a nice horse and that he's rather surprised with his progress. He also said he's about 15hh. I'm not so certain of that so I'm going to try and stick him soon.

Got my breast collar today, which =TheYawningHorse and I did a commission for so I'll be trying it on Gamster tomorrow. I still need to oil my saddle and bridle so hopefully once that's all done, the colors will match a bit more. I'll try to get started soon Taylor, been kind of busy lately.

Anyways, that's about all that's new for now. I've just been really tired and drained.

I have a sneaky suspicion that Gambit might eventually start looking like his older, half-brother Merlin.

Merlin, too, was a chestnut with a butt blanket, a blaze and a sock when he was born. As the years wore on, he got darker and roaned a lot in his 4th year. I do believe he's 9 or 10 this year. The reason that I think Gam might eventually look a little like Merlin is because he's going brown on me this year. The same brown color in Merlin's coat. It's doubtful that Gam will ever roan as severely as Merlin has but he has a LOT more white in him this year. I suppose I'll have to take a photo of him. He's still shedding off his chestnut coat so he looks a bit different with dark brown patches and then lots of chestnut and silver. But he's still purdy.

Got our new windows yesterday and they're working on the doors today so at least it's getting done and out of the way. I've been feeling my interior decorating bone aching so once everything's done I'll be venturing into painting and rearranging. But I'm paranoid that once I get it all done, Colt will destroy it. He has a tendency of finding some kind of pencil and scribbling all over things. Suppose I'll just get semi gloss and hope that it will just wipe off. He also likes to destroy mini blinds. I just wish I could have a nice house.:S Curtains are just out of the question. Oh well, maybe one day.:S

The trail ride is coming up soon, the big one that is. But I'm not exactly sure how everything is going to work out because Karen and her fiancee are having some issues. I suppose I'll just hope they straighten everything out and we can enjoy ourselves. The original plan was to start on the 16th. Colt has a doctor's appointment early that morning so I'll be in the next town for a few hours. Karen and her fiancee are supposed to take his stallions to the trail area and ride them around for a few hours. Then in the afternoon, they're picking up Gambit and the other horses that will be used for the main ride on the 17th. Friday evening, we're wanting to go on a small ride and then have a campout/party with everyone in our group. Michael said he might tag along! He'll more than likely ride Noble. Then I think he was gonna leave that night because the trail ride on the 17th is 6 hours long and he's not ready for a ride like that. Anywho, I sure hope everything will work out.
